A good man with a kind heart, Gary was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord deeply and surely blew heaven's doors wide open upon his arrival.

Gary's life was marked by service and dedication. He served honorably in the Navy during the Vietnam War aboard the USS AJAX, carrying out his duties with distinction and pride. Gary cherished life's simple pleasures. He had a passion for traveling with his beloved wife, Anice, exploring the beaches of North Carolina, the serene beauty of the mountains, and the warm sunshine of Florida. Though he didn't have a favorite team, he found joy in watching baseball and college football, appreciating the games for their spirit and camaraderie.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow and Della Walker, and his loving wife, Anice T. Walker. He is survived by his daughter, Beth Walker; step-daughters, Debbie Bridges and Connie Johnson; sisters, Linda Justice and Nancy Blackwell; brother, Marshal Walker and his wife Ann; grandsons, Grant Johnson and Evan Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
