Floyd A. Green

Mr. Floyd A. Green, 77, of 1829 Ridings Rd., died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at home. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Willie Lee and Etta Elizabeth Church Green. He was retired from Dover Mill and served in Korea with the U.S. Army.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Thelma Lemons Green, and a brother, Jack Green.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his son, Ricky Green, of Shelby, two sisters, Geraldine McCurry and husband, Jim, of Shelby and Shirley Dover of Kings Mountain, six grandchildren, Deana Rowe, Nicholas Green, Heather Hord, Terry Dills, Chelsey Philbeck and Zack Green; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Green, Kamren Hord, and Kaitlyn Rowe.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2009 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial with military honors will follow in Patterson Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
