SHELBY- Mrs. Flora Mattie Lou Morrow Ward, 95, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Athens, G.A., she was the daughter of the late Frank and Mattie Lou Hackett Morrow. Mrs. Ward was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church where she worked in the preschool department for about 25 years. She had a special love for children and enjoyed helping with Bible Drill.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Marvin Ward; son, Dewey Marvin “Skip” Ward; Niece, Gladys Lowe; one brother; and two sisters.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her nephews Ricky Craft and wife Elaine of Cherryville, Milton Lowe and wife Verna of Kentucky, and Mickey Campbell and wife Kay of Athens, GA; and special caregiver Marie Gantt and husband Danny of Shelby.
SERVICES: Thursday, September 23, 2010, 4pm at Elizabeth Baptist Church.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
