SHELBY- Evelyn L. Goode, 88, died Friday, April 28, 2017, at Testa Family Hospice in Kings Mountain. A native of Cleveland Co., she was the daughter to the late Ernest and Anna Mae Hollifield Sailors. She was a member of Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church where she was a choir director. She loved to sing and crochet. She owned and operated her own beauty shop for 50 years.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, D.D. Goode, Jr.; brothers, J.E., Lawrence and Jim Sailors; sisters, Marilyn Hubbard, Patsy Holland, and Joyce “Burene” Arrowood.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Larry Dean Goode and wife Janet of Boiling Springs; daughters, Pamela L. Jones and Angie M. Costner and husband David, all of Shelby; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 4p.m., Monday, May 1, at Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church.

OFFICIATING: Rev. Robert Lane will officiate

BURIAL: will be held at the church cemetery immediately following the service.

MEMORIALS: may be made to Gantt’s Grove Baptist Church, 618 Gantt’s Grove Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114
