Emilio Cortes-Black

GROVER- Emilio Cortes-Black, born on April 9, 2026, in Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully at Levine's Children Hospital on April 23, 2026, at the tender age of just 14 days. Although his time on this earth was short, he made a huge impact on those around him. He was cherished deeply by all who knew him and brought immense joy to his family.

Emilio's presence, though brief, was a radiant light in the lives of his loved ones. His mother, Nicki Black, and father, Sergio Cortes Guzman, held him close as their beloved son. His big sister Breanna Atkins adored him, and his twin sister, Leilani Cortes-Black, shared a unique bond that transcends words. To his family, he was more than just a newborn; he was a precious gift, his mother's baby boy.

Emilio is preceded in death by his grandfather Emilio Cortes Frutos. He also leaves behind his devoted grandparents, Lynn and Tony Black and and Maria Guzman Cuevas who will forever hold him in their hearts. His aunt, Heather Harris, alongside her husband Jacob, and his uncles, Jordan Worst and Mathew Foster, were touched by his spirit. Emilio will also be remembered fondly by his cousins, Natalie Harris, Jacob Harris, Adrianna Harris, and Bethany Harris.

Though Emilio's journey was short, his memory will endure as a testament to the love and connection he inspired. His family and friends will carry his spirit with them always, drawing strength from the love he brought into their lives.
