Elna Gray Brown

HICKORY- Mrs. Elna Gray Brown, 90, of 2010 29th Ave. Dr., NE, formerly of Shelby, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 at Spring Arbor Assisted Living Center. She was born in Richmond County, daughter to the late John R. and Danie Belle Chandler Brazell. She was formerly employed as an Inspector at Valley Manufacturing in Valdese and was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Newton.
PRECEDED IN DEATH BY: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Brown, a son, Henry Ross Brown, daughters, Carol Gray Brown and Eleanor Joyce Duncan, sisters, Margaret Bridges, Edith Bridges, Betty Goble and Mary Burke.
SURVIVORS: She is survived by three sons, Jerry Brown and wife Wanda, of Tahlequah, OK, Gene Brown of Grover, and Ronnie Brown and wife, Juanita, of Black Mountain; a daughter, Ann Echerd of Polkville; twelve grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 25, 2007 from 1:30 until 3:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will follow at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 25, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Revs. Wayne Blanton and David Watson
