Ellen Simpson

SHELBY-Ellen Poston Simpson, 90, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Raleigh and Myrle Gardner Poston. She was a member of Elizabeth Baptist Church.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J.P. Simpson; and son, Bruce Simpson.


SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Larry Simpson of New House; grandchildren, Gary Simpson and wife Lisa of Earl, and Lisa Triplett and husband J.D. of Shelby; great-grandchildren, Brody, Holly, Harley, Jay, Alexis, and Kimmie; and great-great-granddaughter, Meadow Jane Hawkins

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Monday, 2-3pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

SERVICE: Funeral services will be held 3pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

BURIAL: will follow in Elizabeth Baptist Church Cemetery

OFFICIATING: Rev. Mike Morris will officiate
