Doyle Borders

SHELBY- James “Doyle” Borders Sr., 72, died Mon., Mar. 6, 2017, at Carolinas Healthcare System-Union. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late George Dixon and Ruth Arrowood Borders. He was a member of Number Three V.F.D. for more than 20 years, and owned and operated Borders Mobile Home Movers and B&B Mobile Home Park. He was of the Baptist faith, loved to farm and watch NASCAR, and will always be remembered as a kind hearted man.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Clay Borders, of the home; sons, James Borders Jr. of Casar, and Gary Borders and wife Lisa of Cherryville; daughters, Angie Heafner and husband Duane, and Keesha Tessneer and husband Thomas, all of Shelby; sisters, Linda Warren of Shelby, and Nancy Beaver and husband Jerry, all of Shelby; brothers, Kenneth Borders of Black Mountain, Jack Borders and wife Hilda of Earl, and Ricky Borders and wife Lisa of Shelby; grandchildren, Matt Borders and wife Shaye, Ashlee Willbanks and husband Cooper, Jesse Heafner, Cody Borders, Clay Heafner, Katelyn and Austin Tessneer, and Alyssa Borders; great-grandchildren, Austin and Able Borders, Alayna and Sara Townsend; honorary grandchildren, Eddie and Becca Blanton, Chasity King, Timmy Townsend, Lainey and Bella Bradley, Collin and Graham Tessneer, Madison Edwards, Dylan Legg, Timmy and Caden Mantz, Pamela Anderson, Samantha and Zandan Cox; former daughter-in-law, Tiffiany Cox; and his fire department family.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 6-8pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at his home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

OFFICIATING: Rev. Billy Boone and Tony Rayfield will officiate.

BURIAL: Burial will follow on his land, at his home.
