SHELBY- Dorothy “Dot” Pettit Blakemore, 97, died Sat., May 13, 2017, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Catherine Price Pettit. She was a member of Hoey U.M.C.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Blakemore; son, Rob Blakemore; and 11 brothers and sisters.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her sons, Bud Blakemore of Alaska, Russell Blakemore and wife Shelia of Ellenboro, and Chris Blakemore of Lawndale; grandchildren, Ryan Blakemore, Jessica Ward, Ashley Ellis and Tiffany Blakemore; and great-grandchildren, Kylei and Kamden Ward and Jake Blakemore.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 4pm, Monday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
OFFICIATING: Rev. Glenn Ward will officiate
BURIAL: Will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery
MEMORIALS: Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Dr., Shelby, NC 28150
