Dorothy Norman

SHELBY- Mrs. Dorothy C. Norman, 78, of 8 Clifton Dr., died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Wythe County, VA, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Schartz Carter. She retired from Fiber Industries. Mrs. Norman was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, where she was a member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class and was active in many different capacities.

PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph C. Linkous and her second husband, Roan Norman.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by a son, Barry Linkous and wife, Pat, of Shelby; two daughters, Diana Oaks and husband, Virgil, and Tonia Davis and husband, Gene, all of Shelby ; a brother, Ronnie Carter and wife, Sue, of Virginia; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; and her faithful companion, Spanky.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kings Mountain.

FUNERAL SERVICE: The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Macedonia Baptist Church.

INTERMENT: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park

OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Rev. Michael Horne will officiate.
