Doris Jean Lail Holland

SHELBY- Mrs. Doris Jean Lail Holland, 65, of 909 Mark Drive, Shelby, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at Hospice and Palliative Care Cleveland County. A native of Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Ava Pearl Bridges Lail. She was a homemaker and was retired from the Lily Mill. Mrs. Holland was a member of Westwood Heights Baptist Church, was an avid gardner, loved to crochet and loved to collect dishes.

SURVIVORS: She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Dan L. Holland of the home; three sons, Danny L. Holland, Jr. of Taylors, SC, Mike L. Holland and wife, Lynn, of Hickory, and Bobby Lane Holland and wife, Shannon, of Thomasville; two sisters, Joyce Wellmon and husband, Hal, of Shelby and Janie Dover and husband, James, of Grover; a brother, David Lail of Shelby; four grandchildren, Lindsey Taylor Holland, Zachary German Holland, Grace Olivia Holland and Anna Lane Holland; and her faithful companion, “Buddy”.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.
