Doris Scruggs

MOORESBORO- Doris Harris Scruggs, 82, died Monday, May 16, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late George and Selma Hamrick Harris. She worked at Cone Mill for 45 years, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she served as church secretary for many years.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Marion Scruggs; and brother, Harvey Harris.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her brothers, Clyde Harris and wife Carolyn of Mooresboro, Burel Harris and wife Pam of Shelby, Billy Harris and wife Lu of Greer, SC; sister-in-law, Diane Harris of Hamlet; special caregiver, Dawn Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Wednesday, at Trinity Baptist Church

VISITATION: Visitation was held Tuesday evening at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home

BURIAL: will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park

CLERGY: Rev. Mike Frazier will officiate
