Donnie Rippy

SHELBY: Donnie Lee Rippy, 83, died Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Robert and Wilma Webber Rippy. Donnie worked as a Printer and had a love for fishing and bowling, where his team was known as the “Mini Hogs.” He is survived by his sons, Dean Rippy of Shelby and David Rippy of Raleigh; sister, Annette Justice and husband Clyde; brother, Douglas Rippy and wife Isabelle, both of Shelby; granddaughter, Kennedy Sloan Rippy; former daughter-in-law, Christi Dawn Rogers, both of Raleigh; and former wife, Freda Annette McCarver of Shelby. The family will receive friends 1:00-3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 12, 2023 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in Shelby. Funeral services are entrusted to Clay-Barnette Funeral Home & Aquamation Center.
