Donald Martin

GROVER: Donald “Don” Martin, 77, died Sunday, October 20, 2024 at White Oak Manor in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Margaret Queen Martin. Don served in the Navy for six years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He also served in the Sheriff Reserves for 27 years. Don is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Olga “Sandy” Byrd Martin of the home; son, Jeremy Martin of Grover; daughter, Charlene Barnett and husband David of Grover; sister, Betty Bishop of Shelby; grandchildren, Brooklyn Lewis and husband Josh, Jeremy Reynolds, Joshua Pasour and wife Chloe, Caleb Martin, Skylar Martin and Winter Martin; great-grandchildren, Cameron Loftin, Charlie Sisk and Lakelyn Lewis; and great-great granddaughter, Paisley Harding. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 3, 2024 at Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Tim Sims officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service, in the church..
