David Martin

GROVER- Mr. David F. Martin, 75, of 356 Roseborough Rd., died Saturday, July 5, 2008 at home. A native of Cherokee County, South Carolina, he was a son of the late Boyd Franklin and Mattie Belle Petterson Martin. Mr. Martin was retired from Rock Hill Printing and Finishing, where he was a screen printer. He also attended Faith Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Jean Turner Martin, of the home; three sons, James Boyd Martin and wife, Barbara Wray Martin of Shelby, Tony Martin and fiancée Sherri Strickland, of Grover, and David E. Martin and wife, Kellie of Cliffside; a daughter, Dorothy Ann Martin Curtis and husband, Bennie, of Grover, three sisters, Wilma Lail, and Thelma Hughes Hawkins and husband, Glenn, all of Shelby and Bonnie Walker of Waco; two brothers, Noah Lee Martin of Blacksburg and Trudy Martin and wife, Dorothy, of Cherokee Falls; twelve grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2008 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at Faith Baptist Church; the body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service.

BURIAL: Burial will follow in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
