SHELBY- Mr. Charles Jackson Queen, 63, died Sun., Jan. 22, 2012 at Willow Ridge Nursing Center. A native of Cleveland Co. he was the son of the late Floyd A. Sr. and Johnnie Morehead Queen. He was a resident of Willow Ridge in Rutherford Co. He was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church, attended special classes in Shelby City Schools, Rutherfordton Vocational Workshop in Spindale, Catawba Valley Opportunity School in Hickory, and Cleveland Vocational Industries in Cleveland Co. He was a very loving person and a great lover of music, especially gospel hymns and Christmas music.

SURVIVED: He is survived by his brother, Floyd Queen Jr. and wife Carolyn T.; three nephews, Robert Queen and wife Connie, Jeff Queen, Jimmy Queen and wife Leslie; great niece, Rachel Queen, two great nephews, Jared and Adam Queen; one uncle and two aunts, George and Katherine Queen Martin and Myrtle Queen Bland, all of Shelby.

GRAVESIDE SERVICES: Thursday, 2pm, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Wednesday, 5-7pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his brother, Floyd, 1609 Burke Rd., Shelby.
