SHELBY- Mrs. Cecelia Padgett Eades, 97, of Century Care of Shelby, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was born in the Beaver Dam Community of Cleveland County and was a daughter of the late Abi Padgett and Florence Ellis Padgett. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was known as a doll collector for many years.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, Mrs. Eades was preceded in death by her devoted husband, John D. Eades, a son, Hilton Eades and his wife, Doris; a daughter, Ellen Griffin, a granddaughter, Cecelia Vianne Teague, and son-in-law, G. Forrest Teague.
SURVIVORS: Mrs. Eades is survived by two daughters, Jean M. Cabaniss and husband, J. Charles Cabaniss, of Shelby and Jo M. Wentzel and her husband, Kenneth “Zip” Wentzel, of Charlotte; a son, Steve Eades and his wife, Sondra, of Cumming, Georgia; a son-in-law, Allen Griffin, of Gastonia; a sister, Vernelle Mode, of Century Care of Shelby; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Clay-Barnette Chapel.
BURIAL: Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
OFFICIATING CLERGY: The Rev. Tony Tench
