Catherine Oliver

SHELBY- Catherine Marie Hamrick Oliver, 80, died, Thurs., Dec. 8, 2016, at her residence. She was a native of Cleveland Co. and was the daughter of the late David and Eliza Carswell Hamrick. She was retired from the textile industry and was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, J.T., Harrill, Jim, Archie, Ben, Dewey, and Johnny Hamrick; sisters, Vassey Hoppes, Ruth Barnette, Elizabeth Morehead and Eva Chapman.

SURVIVED: She is survived by her son, Keith Oliver and wife Donna of Gastonia, daughter, Denise Oliver of Shelby, sister Martha Greene of Boiling Springs; grandchildren Patrick Oliver and fiancée Amber Durden of Shelby and Lily Oliver of Gastonia; great-grandchildren, Christopher and Kaelyn Oliver; special friends Bill Newton of Polkville and Pat Hawkins of Shelby; and many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 PM prior to the service, at the funeral home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
