SHELBY- Mrs. Carolyn Laverne Nishimura, 64, of 3822-9 Towery Rd., died Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Cleveland, Ohio, daughter to the late Vernon Dwight and Clara Nix Hanson. A member of Zion Baptist Church, she was in The Golden Years Club.
PRECEDED IN DEATH: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vernon Owen Hanson, and a sister, Glenda Wynell Hanson.
SURVIVORS: Laverne is survived by her husband, David Nishimura of Hawaii; her daughter, Leah Nance and her husband Matthew of Statesville; and a sister, Dianne Hanson Massey and her husband Wallace of Greenville, SC.
VISITATION: Saturday (1/5), from 1-2:00pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
FUNERAL: 1:00pm, Saturday (1/5) in the Chapel of Clay-Barnette Funeral Home.
BURIAL: Maui Memorial Park, Wailuku, Hawaii
