SHELBY- Brian Scott Cobb, born on June 4, 1962, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at the age of 63 on May 30, 2026, in Shelby, NC. His departure has left a profound void in the lives of those who knew and loved him, yet his spirit and zest for life remain etched in our memories.
Scott was a man whose laughter could light up any room. He was known for his infectious energy and outgoing personality, always ready with a joke or a story to share. To those who knew him, Scott was not just a friend but a beacon of joy. He had an innate ability to make others feel loved and cared for, leaving a lasting impression wherever he went.
A passionate fisherman and avid motorcycle enthusiast, Scott found peace and adventure on the open road and tranquil waters alike. His love for NASCAR, especially as a die-hard Earnhardt fan, and fervent support for the Redskins drew people together, creating bonds of camaraderie and shared joy. Whether it was cheering for his favorite team or engaging in spirited debates about wrestling, Scott's enthusiasm was unmistakable.
His collection of knives was more than a hobby; it was a testament to his keen interest and meticulous nature. Yet, beyond his interests, Scott is remembered as a hardworking provider whose dedication never wavered. His commitment to those he loved was unwavering.
As a child, Scott attended Bethel Baptist Church, laying the foundation for a life filled with warmth and compassion.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Edith Cobb, who no doubt welcomed him with open arms.
Surviving Scott are his beloved son, Austin Cobb and girlfriend Kaitlyn, and his devoted girlfriend of 14 years, Debra Burchfield, who shared countless memories and adventures together. He leaves behind his brother, Gary Cobb, and cherished nieces, Holly and Erika. Scott adored his great-nephews and great-nieces, Kylan, Jackson, Blaine, and Haislee, finding immense joy in their presence and future promise.

In the midst of remembering Scott, we celebrate a life lived fully and joyfully. Though he will be dearly missed, we carry forward his legacy of laughter, love, and boundless energy. Rest in peace, dear Scott, knowing that your vibrant spirit endures in all those you touched.
