SHELBY- Mr. Billy Gene Thomas, 59, of 202 Victory Lane, died Saturday, March 7, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late Charlie David Thomas and Ollie Mae Thomas of Shelby. He was employed with Ellis Lumber.
SURVIVORS: In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-son, Sam Owensby, of Bessemer City; and a brother, Charlie David Thomas of Shelby.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at New Bethel Church of Shelby.
FUNERAL: The funeral will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at New Bethel Church of Shelby.
INTERMENT: Burial will follow in Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.
CLERGY: The Rev. Reed Jones will be officiating.
MEMORIALS: Memorials may be made to New Bethel Church of Shelby, 706 Hamrick St., Shelby, NC 28150.
