SHELBY-Fredrick “Bill” Church, 90, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at White Oak Manor of Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Beulah Evans. Bill was a member of Union Baptist Church, and after a long career in textiles, he owned and operated the Lake Lure Exxon Station for 12 years. The family would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor for their love and care they extended over the years.
PRECEDED: In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Mary Justice Church; son, Jerry Justice; brothers, Ralph, Thurman, and Elmer Evans Jr.; and grandson, Skyler Day.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his sons, Ron Church, Donnie Church and wife Karen, all of Shelby; daughters, Peggy Hulick and husband Wilson of Hickory, and Vickey Grayson of Shelby; brothers, Max Evans and wife Lorene, and Charles Ray Evans, all Ellenboro; grandchildren, Denise Terry and husband David of Belwood, Misty Yelton and husband Robert of Rutherfordton, Josh Church and wife Heather of Gaffney, Melissa Pittman and husband Wes of Hawaii, and April Grayson and fiancé Nelson Moses of Shelby; great-grandchildren, Jared Terry, Kaylen Spirlin, Brody Church, and Hunter Moses
GRAVESIDE SERVICES: Monday, 11a.m., at Union Baptist Church Cemetery
VISITATION: The family will receive friends following the graveside service, and other times at the home of his son, Ron Church, 1651 Rehobeth Church Rd., Shelby
