Betty Dennis Hunt

SHELBY- Ms. Betty Joyce Dennis Hunt, 84, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Peak Resources of Shelby. A native of Mecklenburg County, she was born May 10, 1929, daughter of the late James Nathan and Opal Dean Mast Dennis.

PRECEDED: In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by one sister, Ponzelle Dennis Auten.

SURVIVED: She is survived by one daughter, Donna Lynn Freeman and husband Gary of Polkville; one sister, Juanita D. Griffin and husband John of Charlotte; one brother, Sonny Dennis and wife Jenny of Fort Mill; two grandchildren, Angela Dobbins and husband Chris of Shelby, and Mitchell Freeman, II of Polkville; one great grandchild, Alton “AJ” Jayce Dobbins; a cousin, Carol Mast Trivette of Granite Falls, NC.

SERVICES: A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.

VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow in Cove Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Sugar Grove, NC.
