SHELBY – Mrs. Betty Chilton Dixon, 75, of Charles Rd., passed away Sat. Nov. 3, 2012 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Rockingham County, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Lola Boyd Chilton. She was a member of Westview Baptist Church and the Come & See Sunday School Class.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Ray Dixon; two sisters, Mae French and Mildred Muncey; six brothers, William, Glimer, Calvin, James, Elwood, and Calvin Chilton.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Donald R. Dixon, of the home; two sons, Michael McCollum and wife Frances of Fayetteville, and Harry Dixon and wife Kimberly; three grandchildren, Morgan, Parker and Drew Dixon, all of Cherryville; two sisters, Mary Witty of Reidsville and Merle Hudson and husband Herbert of Hickory; special friend, Annie Ruth Brackett; and many nieces and nephews survive.
SERVICES: A private family graveside service will be held at Sunset Cemetery
VISITATION: The family will receive friends Tuesday, 2:30-3:30pm at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
