SHELBY-Bessie McGinnis Bowman, 83, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at CaroMont Health in Gastonia. A native of Gaston County, she was the daughter of the late Summey and Virginia Rhyne McGinnis. She retired from Fiber Industries and was a member of First Wesleyan Church in Shelby.
PRECEDED: In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar “Slug” Bowman; daughter, Barbara Ann Bowman; and 10 brothers and sisters.
SURVIVED: She is survived by her sister, Inez Clonninger of Lincolnton; brother, CA McGinnis of Crouse; and many nieces and nephews.
FUNERAL
SERVICES: Friday, 11a.m., at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel
VISITATION: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home
BURIAL: Sunset Cemetery
CLERGY: Revs. Eddie Gray and Bob Andress
FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby
