Barbara Blaskoda Carpenter

KINGS MOUNTAIN- Barbara Ann Carpenter, 81, began her heavenly journey on March 9, 2019 after passing peacefully at Testa Family Hospice, surrounded by many with whom she shared mutual love and friendship for many years. She was born October 3, 1937 in Duluth, Mn., the eldest of three daughters to Fritz and Barbara Fogel Blaskoda. Left to cherish and share loving memories of her are he husband Ronald Stephen Carpenter; sisters Betty Gilberg and husband Hubert, Mary Jo Kerfoot and husband Bill; stepsons Ron Carpenter, Jr. and William Rommie Carpenter. She also cherished the long time friendship of Margi Jackson, Mona Engen, Dorothy Yunker, Judi Talberg, Sharon Thoren and Claudia Campbell. After moving to North Carolina, her dearest friends became her sisters-in-law, Susan Carpenter and husband George, Louise Carpenter and husband Larry, Sandra Carpenter and husband David, Frances Davis and husband Richard, Jane Carpenter and husband Paul and Cindy Davis and husband George. Barbara loved plants and animals, especially horses and dogs. Bulldogs were her favorite and she love teddy bears and had a large collection. She was a people person with an outgoing personality, loved to smile and always tried to treat others the way she wanted to be treated and have a good laugh. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Duane Engen from Duluth, Mn. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Kings Mountain. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Internment will follow at Mountain Rest cemetery. Rev. James Hamrick, officiating.
