SHELBY- Andrea Del Carmen Almonte, born on September 3, 1948, in the beautiful Dominican Republic, peacefully passed away at the age of 77 on February 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in Shelby,NC.
Andrea was a remarkable woman who dedicated her life to helping others. She found true joy in her work as a home health aide, where she spent countless hours caring for and providing companionship to those in need. Her compassionate spirit and heartfelt dedication to service were truly inspiring. Andrea constantly reached out to help those in need, never hesitating to donate food and clothes to uplift others in her community.
Andrea was a beacon of joy and laughter, with a charisma that drew people in. Her infectious energy could light up any room, and she lived life to the fullest with a playful spirit. She loved the thrill of the casino, where she delighted in playing slots, and she was a spirited dancer, always moving with grace and joy.
Her family remembers her as the "cool grandma," always joking, living life with boundless energy, and sharing her happiness with everyone around her. She had an exceptional talent for making others laugh and feel cherished, leaving a legacy of unforgettable memories.
Andrea is survived by her loving children, Carmen Tineo, Rafael Almonte, and Yesenia Rosario; her cherished grandchildren, Diana, Elizabeth, David, Eliana, Eric, Nellys, and Emy; and her adored great-grandchildren, Devonte, Chloe, Joziah, Rome, and Elias. She also leaves behind many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service to celebrate Andrea's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home in the Chapel with Elías Sandoval officiating the service. The family will receive friends following the service in the chapel.
Andrea Del Carmen Almonte leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a reminder of how a giving heart can touch countless lives. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know her.
