SHELBY- Mr. Miles Donald Bridges, 71, of 1211 Scenic Dr., died Thurs., May 13, 2010 at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late H. C. and Evelyn Canipe Bridges. Donald was a faithful member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church where he was a member of the Frank Bridges Sunday School Class. He retired from Doran Textiles. SURVIVED: He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Florence Pearson Bridges of the home; two daughters, Donna Ledford and Sandra Baker both of Shelby; three sisters, Rachel Melton and husband Joe, Sarah Bridges all of Forest City, and Teresa Bridges of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Dustin Ledford and wife Tiffany, Christin Chapman and husband Dale all of Kings Mountain, Jacob and Madison Baker both of Shelby; one great grandson, Kaden Ledford of Kings Mountain; and a special buddy, Glen Bright of Shelby. VISITATION: The family will receive friends, May 15, 2010, from 4-6pm, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home and other times at the home. SERVICES: Funeral will be held 3pm Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church, the body will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the service. BURIAL: Burial will immediately follow at Cleveland Memorial Park MEMORIALS: Calvary Baptist Church building fund, 320 Old Boiling Springs Rd., Shelby, NC 28152 CLERGY: The Revs. David Rabb, Dan Wallace, and Chris Wray FUNERAL HOME: Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby.
