Obituary:
SHELBY - Mrs. Mary Martha Hix, 89, of 1909 S. Lafayette St., died Friday, Sept. 18th, 2009 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. A native of Yancey County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Mattie Hutchins Gardner. PRECEDED – In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hix. SURVIVORS - She is survived by her sister, Alice Blalock; brother, William Bill Gardner, both of Arden; and her special neighbors and caregivers, Floyd and Jane Mauney of Shelby. FUNERAL – A graveside service will be held 2pm Sunday, Sept. 20th at the Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville.
